How did it take me this long to get one of these things?

How did it take me this long to get one of these things? What am I talking about? My new bench buffer. Oh my, what a fabulous machine. I polished up a boatload of beads last night in about an hour. The beads made with Kato shine up beautifully, even without sanding them first. But if they have been already been sanded, they buff up really nice. Some beads had black Premo in them which didn't stand up to the buffing as well.

  1. How do you hold your round beads to buff them? I have tried "threaders", but my beads just spin. I don't know what else to try.

  2. I put a piece of 18 gauge wire through the hole and hold on to the wire. Then I gently push my thumbs onto the bead to hold it against the buffing wheel edge while moving side to side. I can slowly turn the bead on the wire while still moving it side to side until I go all the way around a few times. I have a denim wheel on one side and a muslin wheel on the other. I haven't experimented enough with the denim to figure out how it differs from the muslin.
