My partner, Raida Disbrow sent me lovely glass beads in one of my favorite combinations, black and aqua blue. I don't usually use ribbon so having it in my package of goodies was a nice change of pace for me.
First, you can look at my "sneak preview" photos if you missed them.
Another close up...I added the green stones, light blue acrylic, and the large black seed beads:
And the whole shebang on my person...
Now go see what everyone else made:

Beautiful work! I love the different strands beaded with fibers and the placement of the larger and smaller beads :)
ReplyDeleteI love Raida's lampwork! She must have made these just for you because her colors are usually very earth-toned. What a great piece. I love how you strung the glass beads among the double row of seed beads. Really - the colors look just like some of your own beads! This is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI love this necklace! One of my favorites so far!
ReplyDeleteThat wears very pretty. Thanks so much for modeling it. The silver beads just jump out of the black. Such a pretty design!
ReplyDeleteLove the black and aqua - you pulled it together so wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteGreat necklace. I'll wear it with jeans and a white blouse. Yummy soup!

ReplyDeleteVery very cool!!!!! I love the length, colors, and focal :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! The ribbon adds a unique touch. Nice to see it on.
ReplyDeleteSoup-er Cool and Artsy necklace. Great photo too so we can see how it flows off the neck.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! The ribbon is the perfect accent!
ReplyDeleteReally like the ribbon among the beaded strands! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of seed beads with pops of color. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love the mix of big beads and small, of shiny and matte, and then the velvet. Very elegant~!
ReplyDeleteI love the use of the ribbon with the two strands of beads. It has a hippy vibe (which I love!) with a modern twist. Beautiful! I'd be wearing that necklace a lot.

Very different and imaginative.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool! I don't use ribbon either, always afraid that it will fray. It looks as if you addressed that potential though by putting the ends inside the cones...good idea.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and cool necklace! I like the spots of colour in all the black -- and very nice touch with the mix of beaded strands and ribbon. Very nice job!
ReplyDeleteI really like your necklace, the layers and colors and just beautiful. I also thing the length is just right. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI love that you've been making big, long, dramatic pieces. I was inspired by your long piece from the "box" challenge to go longer with my design this time. It's hard for me to go with something other than short and easy. :)
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Jen
I LOVE this! You did a fab job mixing the ribbon with the beads and the focal is so yummy.
