DMC Memory Thread: Has anyone used this?

I saw DMC Memory Thread at Michael's yesterday. It's a thin fiber-wrapped wire. I almost bought some but decided to think about what I might do with it first (imagine that, resisting an impulse buy craft item!). I don't see too much about it on the web for other than embroidery use -- has anyone used it for jewelry? I think it has possibilities. Here are the colors and you get 3 ft for $2.99, if I recall correctly.

  1. I think you would have to make something out of it and see how well it wears. It looks like fun stuff.

  2. Hmmm. I have never even seen this before. It looks really interesting...and...so many colors. These earrings are cute: http://dmc-threads.com/ideas-memory-thread-jewelry/
I'll be interest to hear if anyone has tried it.

  3. I don't know anything about that stuff - looks interesting however. While getting my car fixed ( I always wait while it's being done) I found myself being fixated by shrink tubing (for electrical wires in cars) - comes in colours and is available at electronic shops! I feel it could have interesting jewelry applications! Oh boy, the new year is coming....

  4. I thought I'd share this link with you...in case you haven't seen it. The memory thread really adds lots of color and texture to the bracelet. I like it!
